How it works
Fasting Hour is an Apple Shortcut — a tiny program that lives inside Apple's built-in Shortcuts app. We didn't build an app because we didn't need to. Here's the full picture.
From purchase to first fast in under 2 minutes
No sign-ups. No account creation. No 40MB download. Just a Shortcut.
Buy it. $9.99.
Secure checkout through Stripe. We email you a license code within seconds.
Add the Shortcut
Tap the iCloud link on your iPhone. iOS opens the Shortcuts app and installs it. Takes 5 seconds.
Paste your license
Open the Shortcut, paste the code we emailed you into the License field. It activates instantly.
Fast
Tap to start your 16-hour window. The Shortcut shows a clean countdown and nudges you when the eating window opens.
Why Shortcuts beats an app here
A fasting timer doesn't need cloud sync, a login, a leaderboard, or a coach. It needs to know when you started and tell you when to stop. That's three lines of logic — and Apple already built the runtime.
Shortcuts run on-device. They can read the time, show a notification, draw a simple UI, and persist a little data — everything a 16:8 timer needs. No backend dependency, no account, no analytics SDK.
The only networking we do is a single call to verify your license when you first activate it on a new device. That call never sees your fasting data.
